…Assassin’s Creed: Unity.
I was OBSESSED with the Assassin’s Creed games. Replayed them all so many times that they completely blur together in my mind.
And then there was AC III. One of the few games I’ve actually pre-ordered. And I hated it.
Connor was so freaking annoying. The story was so freaking boring. And the naval battles were so freaking taxing. Of course, I finished the game–because heaven forbid I leave an AC game unfinished–but I didn’t enjoy it. And then they came out with Black Flag and even though parts of it looked amazing I did NOT want to steer a cumbersome pirate ship around for half the game. Just totally turned me off.
Now Unity is out and even though it got iffy reviews, I kind of want to give the franchise another chance. Went to GameStop yesterday and did a last minute pre-order of Inquisition, and the clerk said he agreed with me that the earlier games were great and AC III was awful, but he liked Unity and had already put in 16 hours (this on the day after release). So I might… maybe… give AC another chance. We’ll see.
But not until after I play Inquisition. Because I have a feeling that game is going to suck out my soul.
In a good way.
